Tiwa Savage new album talk |
Award-winning Afrobeats sensation Tiwa Savage has officially announced her long-awaited comeback with a brand-new album titled This One Is Personal, which will be released on August 29, 2025. The project marks her first major album in five years, following the success of her 2020 studio project, Celia.
A Five-Year Wait Finally Over
Fans have been anticipating Tiwa’s return to the music scene, and she has confirmed that this album will be her most vulnerable and authentic yet. Spanning 13 tracks, This One Is Personal touches on love, pain, growth, and resilience, offering a raw glimpse into her personal journey over the past few years.
Speaking about the inspiration, Tiwa Savage said she deliberately kept collaborations minimal so that listeners could truly connect with her story.
“The features I chose were very intentional. This project is less about numbers and more about connection,” she explained during an interactive Q&A session with fans.
Star-Studded but Selective Features
The album includes guest appearances from UK rap heavyweight Skepta and fast-rising Nigerian talent Taves. Tiwa described their contributions as “intentional and aligned with the overall message of the project.”
Recorded Across Lagos, London, and Nashville
This One Is Personal was recorded in three key music cities — Lagos, London, and Nashville — giving it a unique blend of African roots, global sounds, and emotional storytelling.
Social Media Buzz with #ThisOneIsPersonal
Since the announcement, fans worldwide have flooded X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram with reactions, using the hashtag #ThisOneIsPersonal to share their excitement and interact directly with the singer.
Why Tiwa Savage’s Album Is a Big Deal
Tiwa Savage has remained one of Africa’s most influential female artists, and her new album promises to deliver more than just hits. It’s a deeply personal body of work that reflects her growth as an artist, mother, and woman — making it one of the most anticipated Afrobeats albums of 2025.
